Sweet Potato Burger Patties
Recipe by: Amy Davis | @thebalanceddietitian
Ingredients
Burger Patties:
1 large Bako Sweet Potato
1 lb 90% lean ground beef
1 egg
¼ tsp garlic powder
¼ tsp onion powder
¼ tsp paprika
Salt & pepper to taste
2 tsp Worcestershire sauce
Toppings of choice, including buns or lettuce wraps, tomatoes, onion, pickles, etc
Avocado Jalapeno Ranch Dressing:
1 cup Ranch dressing (we love Primal Kitchen!)
1 jalapeno (seeds and stem removed)
1 small avocado
Directions
Preheat your grill
While the grill heats, make the avocado jalapeno ranch by blending ranch dressing, jalapeno, and avocado in a food processor until smooth.
Next, make the burger patties. Using a knife or fork, poke holes in a large Bako sweet potato. Cook it in the microwave until the inside flesh is soft, about 5-8 minutes.
To a large bowl, add the flesh of the sweet potato, beef, egg, spices, and Worcestershire sauce.
Form the mixture into 6 burger patties.
Add burger patties to the grill, and cook for around 5 minutes on each side, being sure to check the internal temperature reaches 145 degrees.
Remove burgers from the grill, and build your burgers with the avocado jalapeno ranch and toppings of choice. Enjoy!
